Not so very long ago
My world came tumbling down
The lady that possessed my heart
I heard was fooling round
The pain rushed in and crippled me
My life just stopped that day
All the dreams I held so close
Slowly slipped away
There was a time I'd stand and fight
But now that could not be
The truth is she is gone because
I had to set her free
I journey on sad and alone
My love has flown from me
I sit and count the passing days
While she is gone from me
If she returns to me again
I'm sure that it will be
Because she knows I loved enough
